The story I wrote for [info]funpotexchange is up! Read it on the comm or wait a couple weeks and I'll repost it here. So fun to get back to some MomoKai again!

Things That Go Bump, Prince of Tennis, Momo/Kaidoh, 7400 words, PG.
Ghosts, shaved ice, and cat videos. But mostly ghosts.

And so is the story I received: Dunk Tennis by [info]perkyandproud. Inui/Fuji. A sweet slice of life about the school festival. Thanks, Perky!

I still have several works to read/view and I think there are still some more to be posted, but these are a couple of stand-outs from what I've seen so far:

FIC: The Lovesong of Echizen Ryoma by [info]whisper132, Ryoma/Kaidoh,. One day, the Snake Shot starts to look sexy and Echizen thinks he might be losing his mind. This is a boyish, up-and-down real-feeling story about a pairing that gets way too little attention.

ART: Sanada and Sakuno by [info]alkanet. Completely adorable, entirely worksafe, beautifully coloured. ♥

[info]barkley posted about her Favourite Arrow Shooting Superhero and it made me wonder who my Favourite Arrow Shooting Superhero was. There are so many to choose from, but the one who bubbled to the top of the list was Pete Hornberger. Who is yours?

My wireless keeps kicking out (even though the ethernet doesn't) so I have to keep bouncing the router. I want to kick it as well, but then it might not give me wireless at all and I'd have to string even more cables cry.

I spent a lovely weekend in San Francisco visiting [personal profile] laurashapiro and her partner. We ate many tasty things, basked in the sun, and went to the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition (which was AMAZING) at the de Young museum. I was also forced to watch The Room, but avec Rifftrax, so I didn't have to flip any tables. :D

I am still not reconciled to the Shin Tenipuri anime being over. I need tennis boys in my life right now. Either I will watch the original anime or pick back up with the Chinese drama. But when are they going to give us a Japanese drama? Surely we deserve it!

There will be bacon tonight!

Sometimes I read or watch something so good, I don't want to talk about it with anyone. But it makes me feel selfish not to share.

Even though I have a perfectly nice D&D game to go to, I wish I could spend the evening alone, drinking wine and listening to Radiohead.

You?

LIfe is fine, except for seasonal allergies still kicking my ass. It is raining, though, so I'm taking a chance and opening the windows to get the temp down and the air changed. I still fantasize about getting a chainsaw and a mask and cutting down every cherry tree in the city as a Pollen Vigilante but since I'm too lazy even to take the recycling out, I will just have to take more Claritin instead.

I'm trying to catch up with the Prince of Tennis manga read on [community profile] princeoftennis but I've still got a volume and a bit to go. I pulled out my Viz copies since that was easier than figuring out which drive the scanlations are on. Kamio just said he was feeling the rhythm like Fred Astaire.

Trying some of the spring anime on Crunchyroll and I am completely in love with both Space Brothers and Polar Bear's Cafe. I also enjoyed the first ep of Kuroko's Basketball but need a bit more time to decide my in-love status there. Tried OZMA but it did not grab me. I was happy to see Kimi to Boku back but the first ep was pretty boring, so we'll see. And looking forward to the first ep of Kids on the Slope. Continuing with Area no Kishi as well, which is getting very interesting! Besides Araki/Oda, I"m also shipping the two coaches. ♥

When people talk about a fic being "50k" do they mean 50 000 words or 50 kilobytes?

I've been experimenting with doing little stick-person sketches of scenes before I write them and it's really been helping me get into the mood! I'm using that Paper app on my iPad, which helps them look kind of cute instead of just messy. :) I will perhaps post some of them at some point.

I love cheese. And you. xoxoxox

"Why did you bring me off-world?" Daniel said.

"Alien sex pollen," Jack said. "I can't have sex with another man without a mind-altering drug to blame it on."

"That's sweet." Daniel sniffed and rubbed his eyes. "But Jack--"

"Of course I brought protection: 6 condoms and my P90." It was adorable that Daniel was so touched by Jack's thoughtfulness. It was that boyish sensitivity that had first drawn Jack to Daniel. Also his ass.

"Jack, I'm aller-- *CHOO* --gic to pollen!" Daniel wiped his face on his shirt. "But I still *ACHOO* love *ACHOO* you *ACHOO*"

Jack dialled home.

"Why did you call me over?" Harry said.

"To get you drunk," Jack said and turned on the hockey game.

The other day after work, I was reading a book. After a while, I realized I needed to eat something. So I went to the kitchen to make myself some bacon and eggs but I really didn't want to stop reading, not even for fifteen minutes. So I put my Kindle on the counter and read while I cooked. I knew it was a stupid thing to do -- I was grating cheese and turning bacon and not looking at what I was doing and I could have spilled food on the Kindle or hurt myself. But I just had to keep reading, so I did.

It felt so good, not just to read, but to be so compelled to read. And I thought, as I was scrambling the eggs: This is the feeling of my happy childhood.

:)

ETA: I think the book I was reading was Unwind by Neal Shusterman
