» I had a lot of weird dreams last night, but the best one was a Sesame Street segment starring Bert as a millionaire vampire who fought crime. I think he had a monocle.

» I was in a café downtown and there was a sign on the emergency door: Do not open door after dusk. What do you suppose would happen? A horde of zombies would rush in?

» I bought a bar of chocolate today that was 99% cocoa. I'm a little afraid to try it. Either it will be so bitter as to be inedible or unwrapping it will cause a singularity and all matter will be sucked into it.

» I hear there's new SPN this week. About bloody time. Maybe I should finally make myself an icon.

» Life without caffeine is surprisingly good. There's this whole thing where you wake up in the morning and you actually are awake. Plus I'm committing way less crimes.

» In defiance of the forecast, the sun came out today. I was glad.

Oh no!
EVERYONE who likes dark chocolate tries that. I DID. My brother did. My dad bit into what was left on my brother's desk.

99% is VILE. And dries out your mouth.

I found I could only eat it with a latte on hand.

I've only gone as high as 85% before. I'll try half a square with a cup of decaf and see how that goes down.

99% chocolate? Have some cereals at hand. It helped last time...

Maybe a big glass of milk would work.

*smiles* of course not! That's when they have there Satanic rituals and sacrifice a thousand lattes to the holy spirit of cocoa.

No wonder the lines are so long if they have to make 1000 lattes. :D

What are your crimes? Are they anything like mine? I run across the road when the lights are red, defiant in the face of oncoming lorries.

I'm a very careful pedestrian, no matter how much caffeine I've had. Mostly, I try to destroy the universe as we know it.

I need coffee, but kudos to you.

The sun has been out for weeks here - it's the temps that can't make up their mind.

The main problem is without caffeine, I start getting sleepy at 8:30pm. It's 9:15 now and I keep thinking it's past my bedtime.

We've had so much grey and grey and grey that I'm about ready to freak out. Next year, I'm going to make sure I take a vac in late Jan/early Feb.

Good luck with 99% cocoa chocolate - I'd have a cup of milky coffee on hand if I were you.

Or, it might be lovely.

I haven't drunk caffeine for about five years. It's remarkably easy once you get used to it. It also means that a couple of sips of coffee have me higher than a small child on too much sugar. *is a cheap date coffee wise*

I haven't tried the chocolate yet b/c I have another bar open already. Also, I'm enjoying the thrill of anticipation. *g*

Caffeine is a lot more fun when you're not on it regularly. A cup of coffee gives you superpowers!

In other news, I've been reading about Tibetan Buddhism, and I saw a photograph of a woman teacher who's supposed to be a reincarnation of a famous dead woman teacher, and she reminded me astonishingly of you in the face.

Good luck on the caffeine. I'm trying a dairy elimination for three weeks to see if perhaps I am still allergic to it.... *winces*

That's really interesting about the teacher. You know, I once thought I saw myself across the room. It was really, really freaky.

Good luck with the dairy! I would hate to have to give that up -- I think it comprises 80% of my diet right now.

So basically he was muppet!Angel. Who really should have had a monocle.

I hear there's new SPN this week. About bloody time. Maybe I should finally make myself an icon.

You know about this week's guest star? I feel you would appreciate the casting.

I wonder if Bert could kick Angel's ass. Either way, that's a fight I'd like to see.

I know not about this guest star! But I will now look forward to seeing who it is. (Don't tell me -- it will be more fun that way.)

Really, the truth is if I started making SPN icons, they would just all be of Ash.

I would sacrifice a goat to see Bert as a millionaire vampire fighting crime and wearing a monocle.

No...caffeine??? /failure to compute/ alf;js;af how do you do it

Seriously. I think it's his true calling.

I cut back little by little. The final jump to nothing came with a few headaches, but life is better now.

I have had a 91% bar that I thought was perfect, and not at all bitter, really. Intense, though. You must tell me how the 99% bar is.

I adore your Bert dream. (:

Re: Hooray for the sun!

When I try the chocolate, I'll post about it. I never liked dark chocolate before going low-carb but now I love it more and more.

The Bert dream might be the best one ever.

What type of chocolate is it? Personally, I've found Michel Clouzot's (sp?) 99% too bitter for my taste -- but I love their 85%. On the other hand, Domori's 100% is smooth and silky and very edible. I also had some English 99% chocolate (sent to me by a friend, unfortunately I can't remember the brand name, only that it was Chocolatier to the Queen) that was perfectly wonderful.

With most brands, I tend to prefer around 85%, but there are a few 99% - 100%s out there that I really enjoy.

It's a Lindt Excellence bar. I usually get their 85%, which is lovely with a cup of coffee. (Decaf, these days.) I like that it doesn't take much to feel satisfied.

Awesome. Is Ernie his manservant/feeder? Or is Ernie his cop friend?

I would so love a story like this.

Especially if it was set during Snuffy's invisible phase. I'm sure there's mileage in that!

Ernie wasn't in the dream, but I think he's probably Bert's arch-nemesis. Though there's a lot of potential in cop friend as well.

99% Cocoa? Is that even possible? (How was it?)

#6: In defiance of the forecast, the sun came out today. I was glad.

Last Tuesday we had -40s (with wind chill) and today we had temperatures ranging from 8 to 16 Celsius. I'm actually kind of worried.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

It seems like there's wacky weather everywhere. We haven't had strange temperatures, though, just grey skies.

Thank you! Last time I read Snow Crash, I decided I needed a Poor Impulse Control icon and Angel seemed like a good candidate.
