OK, I can think rationally about this episode now. I think.

Or maybe not. God, Xander! I'm still feeling sick.

Anyhow -- I enjoyed Faith, I liked how they revisited the "keep your hands off my vampire boyfriend" thing. But I wish she and Buffy had had a little more time to bond. Or fight. I'm not picky.

Caleb was creepy, but I'm not really that impressed by his "women are evil" schtick. Warren's casual misogyny was far more effective in that line. Right now, it seems like: This show is all about girl power thus, the enemy must be anti-girl power. It's pretty flat.

I adored Andrew's voiceover right up until the Vulcan, at which point it became much, much too silly. And I kind of thought Andrew was smart enough to know what "vulcanologist" means. Anyhow, the usual word is "volcanologist." So there.

The best exchange in the ep was the Godzilla dialogue. Feel the Xander/Andrew love. And I so do love Godzilla. ("He's like a friend to us!")

Xander bought his own pain with his rousing speech and belief in Buffy. I think this show has nurtured the concept that belief in themselves is enough to get them through. And suddenly, it's not.

I enjoyed all the breaking casks in the big fight, with wine flooding out all over. I could almost smell it. But they should have pulled out much earlier.

Buffy's strategic skills are as good as ever: find the bad guy, try to kick its ass. Was she being stupid just for spite? Or just desperate?

You know what they need? They need Wesley. He'd know what to do.

Oh, Xander. I keep thinking of him in his pirate Halloween costume and sniffling.

NB: Please do not spoil me for upcoming episodes of Buffy or Angel -- including this week's Angel, as we're still a week behind the US.
