I realise this is Sunday, not Saturday, but I watched the eps yesterday.
Stargate: SG-1 -- Sacrifices
You know, I liked this episode a lot until I started thinking about it. Well, OK, I only restrained myself from yelling out "Die, Rya'c, die!" because I knew the Boy hadn't had time to watch the ep yet either and I didn't want to spoil him. But mostly, I thought it was a lot of fun -- Teal'c arm porn, Jack doing the patented Jack-flail, Daniel and Sam SNUGGLING!!!!!!!!!! and some good action. Teal'c was so amazing, he made me think of that old Klingon proverb: four thousand throats may be cut in one night by a running man.
But then I started to ponder the gender issues. It seems like an ep which is meant to show that men and women should respect one another and acknowledge each other's strength. But then this was an ep where the female warrior became a damsel in distress and had to be saved by Teal'c. Where the young bride-to-be threw a hissy fit. Where the crowds of troublesome women had to be coaxed and corralled by Daniel and Bra'tac. Where Sam was manhandled by both Daniel and Jack.
