Tenipuri stuff:
* AO has dropped 138.
* There is now a momo_kai community and I have just posted a bunch of MK icons there.

Sometimes I write MomoKai and sometimes I write MK. But MK always gives me a twinge of guilt, because M/K is Mulder/Krycek and I feel like I'm cheating on my first fandom somehow. Not that I was a major M/K girl -- M/Sk was my pairing. But still...

There were a lot of letters to keep track in a bunch of different fandoms in those days, but somehow we all knew that P/K was Paris/Kim and K/P was Krycek/Pendrell. Or maybe just those of us who were into Krycek/Pendrell knew that.

You know, I always thought that Paris/Kim was what a lot of people wanted Mulder/Krycek to be: a hint of badboy, but not too much, and lots of lovely banter and perhaps some curtain shopping. P/K was a secret ship for me -- I wan't in Voyager fandom, but sometimes late at night I would sneak around and read P/K fic and not leave any feedback.

Now I'm feeling guilty about that too.

Is it the solstice yet?

Exactly - some people *wanted* Mulder/Krycek to be that, but in reality the mortal enemies thing kind of messed with that theme. I have never been that excited by enemies pairings, so Mulder/Krycek never worked for me.

I have a RL friend who wrote Paris/Kim back in the day. She doesn't participate in fandom anymore but she follows my LJ and sometimes reads fic that I link there. She has told me that she loves your Harry Potter stories, but she doesn't send feedback anymore (and it has just now occurred to me that perhaps she expected me to pass on the praise.) Anyway, maybe you can feel less guilty about not sending feedback to Paris/Kim authors since this P/K author doesn't send feedback to you!

And it was easier to keep track of pairing abbreviations when there were rules - Paris/Kim couldn't be K/P because Tom outranked Harry and therefore had to be listed first.

Hee! Fannish karma will work out every time. *g*

I never knew the rank rule -- mostly it seemed to me to be whichever character had more screentime got to go first. So, Mulder/Krycek, but Krycek/Spender.

I seem to remember that the rank order thing was an actual rule on alt.startrek.creative, back in the day when people had to worry about limited space in headers and had extended discussions about how Torres and Tuvok would be abbreviated. ('T' and 'Tu')
