Bill C-68 -- the same-sex marriage bill -- has passed!

In other breaking Canadian news, we beat Scotland 17--7 in women's lacrosse and we like potatoes.

It's just nicer here.

Go Canada. I'm definitely going to be eyeing British Columbia if I ever manage to actually get an MLS or some other qualification that would make me a genuinely desireable potential citizen.

Skip British Columbia until the BC Liberals are no longer in power. The Liberals don't like funding libraries because libraries doen't make money for them.

Woohoo! Now if we could just get Harper to shut up about it... It passed, he lost, get over it.

Also potatoes are a good thing.

Harper and Klein are being such buttheads over it! And yes, I like potatoes as well.

Thanks to you I'm bopping around my apartment singing Stompin' Tom Connors' "Bud the Spud".

The spuds are big on the back of Bud's rig
And they're from Prince Edward Island!

Also, I salute your Trudeau icon. While I didn't always agree with him, this is definitely a Trudeau moment.

Hail Canada! I will watch a properly Vancouverish "X-Files" episode in honor!

You know, our forthcoming trip is partly so P. can evaluate BC as a possible place to live...

Stay away from BC unless you have a lot of money and don't require health care or any form of social services. The climate is nice, the scenery is beautiful, but the government is evil. They can give victims of the Asian tsunami a billion dollars, while meanwhile the homeless population in BC has doubled since this government came to power. I am about to lose my apartment because the government will not give me my disability allowance, and I will soon be joining said homeless population.

*holds up placard*

"Will Marry For Green Card"

*thinks, takes sign down, scribbles, holds up again*

"We Take Visa(s) Too*

I'll agree to that statement. *beams* I love being Canadian.
