Do you ever feel like you can be smart, productive, and available in fandom or smart, productive, and available at work, but never both at the same time?

Or does that just mean I'm old?

I know I was a lot more productive in fandom before my full-time job, but I also had better wrists then ....

I can be productive in fandom with a full-time job, but not easily when my job is super-busy. I do think this was easier ten years ago, when I had more energy and less responsibilities. :)

Maybe I should try to schedule one week productive, one week slacking for each. :)

I always thought it had something to do with my spectacular lack of time management skills...

I think it has more to do with the fact that fandom is its own part-time job!

Your icon kitties make me feel better about it, though.

Kitties make everything better!

Somtimes. Or, sometimes I equally feel like I can be productive and available in fandom, but not productive and available in a social life ;)

I always try to minimize my social life either way. :)

I feel like that all the time, and I thought I was the only one who can't reconcile fandom and real life.

I know, it always seems like I'm the one falling behind, but I'm sure it's everyone.

I can't do it either. Before I started full time work, I was writing maybe two long fics a month. Since I started my job, I've written two long fics in a year. If only we could all be paid to be in fandom. XD

We'd probably all get bored if fandom was the only thing we did. :)
